Dog Friendly Office Project: Staff Information Seminar

In the spirit of ‘Enriching the Workplace with Your Dog" at free stitch, we started the ‘Dog Friendly Office Project’ in September 2019. 

To commemorate the launch of the Dog Friendly Office Project, we will hold an annual event at the free stitch office called the ‘Dog Friendly Office Day’ on May 12th 2021.

In further preparation for the Dog Friendly Office Day, we ask our staff to complete a questionnaire about their attitudes towards bringing pets to the office. 

We discovered that many members of staff who joined us within the last year were unfamiliar with the project in detail and wanted to know more about the rules and guidelines for bringing their pet to work. Since it turned out that there were many points that were unclear even to our own team, we decided to hold an in-house information seminar.

By explaining in detail the rules, activities involved and answering any questions, we were able to fill in the knowledge gaps and put our team at ease about bringing their dogs to work. We felt that the session was by and large successful and our staff members told us they aim to bring their dogs into the office in the future. All-in-all the session was of great benefit to all, not to mention our staff dogs!   

Moving forward, we hope to run more information seminars for new (and experienced) staff members so everyone is kept up-to-date with the latest Dog Friendly Office Project developments.  

By continuing to gather feedback from our team about our dog friendly office efforts, we hope to continue promoting activities that will ‘create a richer workplace with our dogs’.
