2022 Autumn-Winter Meetup Roundup
As 2022 drew to a close, free stitch held our annual autumn-winter Meetup events in both Saitama and Yamanakako, Japan.
This season, we added some new breeds to our lineup of Meetup events this season including Poodles, Doodles, Beagles, and West Highland White Terriers! It is always great to see new breeds and their owners get together to create new friends and experience new ways of life at our events.

We continued to provide an exciting range of activities for our participants ranging from unique training sessions with our experienced behavioral specialists to our increasingly popular Charity Photoshoot.
Making a welcome addition to our lineup this season, we added a new 50-meter sprint for some of the larger breeds and we continued to offer an exciting range of prizes to first, second, third, and runner-up winners that included a selection of dog food from the free stitch Original Food range.
Despite the weather being a little unpredictable at the change of seasons, everyone on the free stitch team did their best to create a memorable experience for all who attended. Our staff even brought some of their own dogs to the event in support of the Dog-friendly Office Project!

What is a free stitch Meetup Event?
We have been posting about our original Meetup events for some time now - but what exactly is a free stitch Meetup event and how can people apply to join?
The free stitch Meetup event was originally started as a way for dog owners to connect, network, and expand their social horizons through the mutual love of their dog breeds.
Generally, we divide our events by dog breed which encourages people from all over Japan to come together and socialize with their dogs and learn more about how to get the best out of their lifestyle together. As the free stitch motto states: ‘enriching people’s lives with dogs’ - we hope that our Meetup events do just that. We have held French Bulldog days, Chihuahua days, Retriever days, and many other breeds in between.
If you are interested in joining one of our Meetup events, please apply via our Japanese site.
If you wish to make a reservation to attend a Meetup event:
- Please visit our reservation page (*Japanese language only)
- Select the breed
- Select the number of participants and click ‘apply’
- Complete the registration form at checkout to complete your reservation for the Meetup Event
We also offer on-the-day participation (extra fees apply and are subject to availability).
Please note that we are required to follow COVID-19 safety protocol at all of our events.
